During the first tournament of boccia games in Armenia in September 8-12, a young representative of “Full Life” NGO, 11 years old Nver Mirzoyan from Hobarzi community of Lori Region has become a champion in BC1 class. The second place was taken by Ashot Ohanyan, representative of Ijevan-based “Huisi kamurj” (Bridge of Hope) NGO. The third place winner was Sargis Hakobyan, from “The Children of Armenia Foundation” NGO. Senior coach of boccia game from “Full Life” NGO, Rubina Sargsyan, has mentioned: “Despite this sport has been introduced in Armenia only several months ago, the tournament was organized at a very high level and I am particularly satisfied with the performance of our sportsmen. In the nearest future we intend to concentrate on developing techniques and team play strategies. We hope that with the assistance of our partners it will be possible in the future to hold training sessions and attract more children and youth towards participation in this sport activity”.
The tournament was conducted within the frames of “Sport network for people with disabilities” program, funded by EU, and participation of “Full Life” NGO’s team was supported by the assistance of Jinishyan Memorial Foundation and “World Vision Armenia” IBO.
